Summer Camp : Classic Culinary Camp

  • This camp is for any student interested in taking their cooking passion to the next level. Learn how to cook a variety of foods using classic techniques and basic knife skills. We will create appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and desserts utilizing a wide array of ingredients culiminating in an iron chef challenge.
  • Camp is Monday - Thursday (7/30-8/2) 9am - 12pm. Minumum age is 10yrs and maximum age is 15yrs unless approved by the instructor. We divide kids up by age group.

At The Cooking Studio Kids and Teen Classes:

  • We teach kids like adults
  • We cook and bake from scratch; each class features different recipes
  • Students cook in teams cooking or baking that day's menu
  • Students must be able to manage downtime and working with others
  • We will do our best to accommodate allergies or preferences; however we are not a gluten-free or nut-free kitchen and unfortunately, cannot accommodate life-threatening allergies. Please indicate any allergies during registration.

Equipment needed: All kitchen equipment, knives, aprons, food, spices and herbs are provided. This is an immersion, hands-on class and your student will be on his or her feet most of the class. Please wear comfortable shoes with closed toes for safety purposes.

Time : Students need to arrive right on time or a few minutes early.

Class size: Class is limited to 16 students due to the hands on nature of the instruction with no more than six students per instructor/assistant. We require a minimun of 6 students per camp. If less than six students are registered then class will be cancelled due to low enrollments and you will be notified by email. Refunds will be issued for all cancelled classes.


Who will be the Chef Instructor?

We have a very talented group of Chef Instructors teaching at The Cooking Studio who also work at local restaurants or are teaching at Professional Culinary Schools, own catering businesses or working as Personal Chefs.

All Chef Instructors are highly skilled in their topic area and bring that skill, passion and personality to class.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking is available in the parking garage directly behind The Opera Galleria. The cost is $1/hour. If you prefer it, the MAX stop is just a block away. Biking to Old Town is always and option.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We will be expecting you so you don’t need to bring anything to the class.

What is the refund policy?

Class registrations are non-refundable. However, if you can’t attend we will help you transfer your registration to another class. This needs to be done five days before the class you have registered for. If it is less than five days before the class you are welcome to give or resell the class to a friend or family member. Sorry, but missed classes can’t be made up.

What if there is a waitlist?

If the class you want to register for is full, please add your name to the waitlist and we’ll email you if an opening comes available. We may decide to add an additional session to satisfy demand so you’ll want to be sure we have your best contact information. You don’t need to pay when putting your name on the waitlist, you can pay when there is an opening and you register for the class.
